Middleofnowhere, Nevada

The Bed and Breakfast

I've been wanting to write this post forever, but my kids both feel like they need me 24/7.. Reed is going through an identity crisis right now I think. He doesn't want me to hold the baby anymore and he wants to be the baby again. It's been awful. I don't know what to do with him except let him know that I still love him too.. hopefully this will pass..

Back to the post. a few weeks ago we had to opportunity to go on a road trip. He tagged along with my Aunts and had a great adventurous time. We saw so many things, and things I probably never would have seen. Carina my fabulous Aunt loves to see everything when she travels so she planned a route out for us, and this was our first stop. Unionville Nevada. Now I know all of you have probably not heard of this great little semi ghost town, but it does exist. It was definitely an adventure. It is quite an old place. Mark Twain actually had a cabin in this town. He came here when they had the gold rush.

So this is how it happened. We got off of the freeway and drove about 20 minutes into the middle of nowhere. I say this because there was nothing. It was beautiful. It was also free range for cows, and we did run into them along the way sitting on the road. Then the pavement ended and it was dirt from then on out. We finally got to the Bed and Breakfast and I was skeptical.. it look pretty interesting. My Brother Thomas thought we were joking. He wasn't very happy when we told him that we were really staying there. He said and I quote " I am not happy, and I am not staying here!" It was pretty funny. It turned out to be a great time. They actually have 2 houses that they have redone over the years, but had kept a lot of the character from the old days. They had the claw foot tubs and the old farmhouse sinks. It was cool. The only thing that I wasn't to keen on was all the bugs and spiders that lived there too!

So the next morning we got to have breakfast with them and another couple that was staying there too. It was delightful. We had oatmeal with fruit and nuts, and fresh goats milk, and eggs and pancakes. They old lady was a million years old and her son was helping her run the place. They were so fun to talk to.
Breakfast

After that they let the kids see all the animals and even feed the baby goat! Reed was in heaven and just was exploding with excitement.

Goat Feeding!

Reed and Nash having fun!
This is the walkway from their house.. Isn't this beautiful.
Can't resist this cutie!
Walking back from breakfast

This is the house we stayed in. The whole crew, minus Reed and Nash they were already in the car.
We found a toad.. Reed wanted to hold it, but he was super scared.

summer time.. and the livins' easy..

Picture overload.. I know I haven't updated since we moved all around, but here are a few pictures. I just can't seem to keep a camera with me, and when I bring the camera it always seems to have a dead battery. Oh well.. I think this last kid killed a few more of my brain cells.

We made a trip down to La Verkin to my house (we still have some stuff there) I needed to get some baby stuff for Nash. Reed was very happy to be there. I think he misses it, but he loved the washer!

Nash is getting so big, and so cute!

Nash Fell asleep on me today. He does everyday. He HAS to be held, and a Momma's Boy. He is nothing like Reed was. My arms are getting really buff, and Tired so I use the harness every once and while.

Getting Ready to go Boating today!

Nash Loved having his life jacket on..

Riding in the boat.. yes he is still crying.. but very shortly after fell asleep.

the sun is shining..

Finally the Sun is shinning! It has been a whirlwind since I last posted on the blog. I have been one busy woman!
Where to start... well in the last post I was just getting ready to leave La Verkin and head to Phoenix. Jake's parents were kind enough to come and stay with me for a week and then drive me back to Phoenix with my two little guys. It was so nice to have help and I don't think I would have survived with out them. I was in Phoenix for about 2-3 weeks and Jake's work decided that they needed to send Jake to other places for the summer. They needed him to go to Denver the next week and then to head to Seattle after that for there other summer offices. They also decided to close the apartment we were staying in and said they would rather have us put in a house. So my sister Becca was getting married the week later in Salt Lake and I was going up to that, so we decided that I would just stay with my Parents for the summer. Then I wouldn't have to drive back to phoenix and  I would have help with the kids, and I could spend some time with my family. They were nice enough to take us in. We packed up our apartment and put it all in storage, and we will be back to Phoenix in the fall. I thought I was going to be able to stay put this summer, but I was wrong :)
It has been fun so far. I miss Heber. It is so beautiful here. It has been raining since we got here so we are hoping that will change. Reed is loving the outside, and likes to run away from us. No idea why he just won't stay in the yard.. it is plenty big, we have had a few scares but he is still alive. :) He loves the chickens and the cats and trampoline. He is growing so fast and we are potty training starting today. I am not looking forward to it. He is not potty trained yet because I don't want to do it. poor guy. Well we are doing it now.
Nash is doing good. We went in for his 1 month appointment and he weighed 9 lbs and 8 oz, 1 oz more than Reed weighed when he was born. He is finally putting on some weight so we are excited about that. He does have a little problem with his neck. He favors one side and the muscle on the other side has tightened up so he can barely turn his head the other way, it is called torticollis I think. So we are working with that too. He seems to be doing really well, but he isn't found of the stretching exercises. He is happy boy other than that!
We are going to bless him this coming Sunday. It is kinda spur of the moment so please come if you can! We would love to see everyone!

Nash David Squire {4.6.11}

Nash David Squire 7 lbs 7 oz - 21 inches

10:05 AM

He made it!! We are so happy to have this new little guy in our lives! He is the sweetest most cuddly baby ever. I needed that since Reed was not a cuddly guy.
The Birth Story:
This birth was MUCH different than the last one. It went so smooth. I was going to try for a vbac (having a baby naturally after a c-section) but my body didn't agree. I had to go into labor by myself to try to have a vbac and I wasn't progressing or anything, so I decided it was best to just go ahead and do the scheduled c-section. So on April 6th we showed up to the hospital at 8:30 in the morning and started getting everything going. I changed got all my paperwork done, got my IV in and then I walked down to the operating room. I was really nervous to get the epidural this time around. I am a baby about shots and when I got it last time it was so painful. So I had to go in by myself, Jake couldn't come in until everything was set up and ready to go. The anesthesiologist came in and had me hunch over and stuck me with the numbing shot and then did the Spinal. I didn't know that they did spinals now for c-sections, but it was much less painful. My IV hurt worse than that. I was numb in about 1 minute and was ready to go. It was a weird feeling this time, I could feel all the pressure and my body moving, but no pain. They had him out in about 5 minutes and it was so special. It never feels real to me, but he was here and perfect. The kept saying how pretty he was. He had the nicest round head ( 1 plus for having a c-section) and his skin looked perfect. Jake went over and look pictures and stayed with him while they sowed me all back up. Jake did accidentally look over while they were doing that, and saw all my guts. He said it was pretty cool, but he didn't want to see it. While they were in there though they did find that I had endometriosis on my ovaries so they fixed that too!
After they were all done they took me back to labor and delivery and made sure I was going to survive. Then I went up to Mom and baby. The only thing that I didn't like was the numbing medicine made me itch. They gave me benadryl to help but I was itchy for several hours later.
This c-section was so much better. My body wasn't so worn our from hours of labor and I am healing so much faster. We are so happy to have this new little one here.
Reed doesn't pay to much attention to him. He did get me the wipes the other day and threw them right at Nash's face, but that is about it. He is getting a little jealous. For the most part he is doing great.

the best 2 years..

Yeah, I am sure that Reed is the cutest little boy I know..

We just love him.. he has been such a blessing in our lives. He is a busy guy and he keeps us going, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I figured I needed to get his pictures done before this next one makes is debut in a few days. I think they turned out so cute!

longest 2 weeks of your life..

I forget how long the last 2 weeks of pregnancy is! It seriously is the longest 2 weeks of your life. I can't sleep, I can barely eat, and I have so much heart burn I could die. AND I just want to meet this kid! Well I guess I only have 12 days until my c-section is scheduled so I do know that it will end by then, but it is killing me. I am actually up in Heber staying with my parents. We decided that would be best for me, because it is a few hours closer than Phoenix and they could help me with Reed. It has been nice. Reed loves his Aunts and Uncles. He bosses them around all day long, and they will play the Wii with him. He is getting really good at the wii fit. It is amazing how much they understand and learn at such a young age.
We are pretty much just waiting for this kid to come.. we are pretty boring besides that. We really like Phoenix so far. We have a great ward and Jake likes having his family closer.
We did get a new car. Well a new to us car. We have been using Jake's parent's truck for the last 2 years while they were on their mission and they just got back a few months ago. So we needed to buy a car. Jake is proud owner of a wagon. That's right a wagon. :) It's a 2003 VW Passat wagon. It is actually really nice and he needed something with a large trunk for all of his equipment at his job, so this was the best thing we could find in our price range. It gets great gas mileage and we really like it so far! I will post pictures some time soon.
