the sun is shining..

Finally the Sun is shinning! It has been a whirlwind since I last posted on the blog. I have been one busy woman!
Where to start... well in the last post I was just getting ready to leave La Verkin and head to Phoenix. Jake's parents were kind enough to come and stay with me for a week and then drive me back to Phoenix with my two little guys. It was so nice to have help and I don't think I would have survived with out them. I was in Phoenix for about 2-3 weeks and Jake's work decided that they needed to send Jake to other places for the summer. They needed him to go to Denver the next week and then to head to Seattle after that for there other summer offices. They also decided to close the apartment we were staying in and said they would rather have us put in a house. So my sister Becca was getting married the week later in Salt Lake and I was going up to that, so we decided that I would just stay with my Parents for the summer. Then I wouldn't have to drive back to phoenix and  I would have help with the kids, and I could spend some time with my family. They were nice enough to take us in. We packed up our apartment and put it all in storage, and we will be back to Phoenix in the fall. I thought I was going to be able to stay put this summer, but I was wrong :)
It has been fun so far. I miss Heber. It is so beautiful here. It has been raining since we got here so we are hoping that will change. Reed is loving the outside, and likes to run away from us. No idea why he just won't stay in the yard.. it is plenty big, we have had a few scares but he is still alive. :) He loves the chickens and the cats and trampoline. He is growing so fast and we are potty training starting today. I am not looking forward to it. He is not potty trained yet because I don't want to do it. poor guy. Well we are doing it now.
Nash is doing good. We went in for his 1 month appointment and he weighed 9 lbs and 8 oz, 1 oz more than Reed weighed when he was born. He is finally putting on some weight so we are excited about that. He does have a little problem with his neck. He favors one side and the muscle on the other side has tightened up so he can barely turn his head the other way, it is called torticollis I think. So we are working with that too. He seems to be doing really well, but he isn't found of the stretching exercises. He is happy boy other than that!
We are going to bless him this coming Sunday. It is kinda spur of the moment so please come if you can! We would love to see everyone!

Nash David Squire {4.6.11}

Nash David Squire 7 lbs 7 oz - 21 inches

10:05 AM

He made it!! We are so happy to have this new little guy in our lives! He is the sweetest most cuddly baby ever. I needed that since Reed was not a cuddly guy.
The Birth Story:
This birth was MUCH different than the last one. It went so smooth. I was going to try for a vbac (having a baby naturally after a c-section) but my body didn't agree. I had to go into labor by myself to try to have a vbac and I wasn't progressing or anything, so I decided it was best to just go ahead and do the scheduled c-section. So on April 6th we showed up to the hospital at 8:30 in the morning and started getting everything going. I changed got all my paperwork done, got my IV in and then I walked down to the operating room. I was really nervous to get the epidural this time around. I am a baby about shots and when I got it last time it was so painful. So I had to go in by myself, Jake couldn't come in until everything was set up and ready to go. The anesthesiologist came in and had me hunch over and stuck me with the numbing shot and then did the Spinal. I didn't know that they did spinals now for c-sections, but it was much less painful. My IV hurt worse than that. I was numb in about 1 minute and was ready to go. It was a weird feeling this time, I could feel all the pressure and my body moving, but no pain. They had him out in about 5 minutes and it was so special. It never feels real to me, but he was here and perfect. The kept saying how pretty he was. He had the nicest round head ( 1 plus for having a c-section) and his skin looked perfect. Jake went over and look pictures and stayed with him while they sowed me all back up. Jake did accidentally look over while they were doing that, and saw all my guts. He said it was pretty cool, but he didn't want to see it. While they were in there though they did find that I had endometriosis on my ovaries so they fixed that too!
After they were all done they took me back to labor and delivery and made sure I was going to survive. Then I went up to Mom and baby. The only thing that I didn't like was the numbing medicine made me itch. They gave me benadryl to help but I was itchy for several hours later.
This c-section was so much better. My body wasn't so worn our from hours of labor and I am healing so much faster. We are so happy to have this new little one here.
Reed doesn't pay to much attention to him. He did get me the wipes the other day and threw them right at Nash's face, but that is about it. He is getting a little jealous. For the most part he is doing great.

the best 2 years..

Yeah, I am sure that Reed is the cutest little boy I know..

We just love him.. he has been such a blessing in our lives. He is a busy guy and he keeps us going, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I figured I needed to get his pictures done before this next one makes is debut in a few days. I think they turned out so cute!

longest 2 weeks of your life..

I forget how long the last 2 weeks of pregnancy is! It seriously is the longest 2 weeks of your life. I can't sleep, I can barely eat, and I have so much heart burn I could die. AND I just want to meet this kid! Well I guess I only have 12 days until my c-section is scheduled so I do know that it will end by then, but it is killing me. I am actually up in Heber staying with my parents. We decided that would be best for me, because it is a few hours closer than Phoenix and they could help me with Reed. It has been nice. Reed loves his Aunts and Uncles. He bosses them around all day long, and they will play the Wii with him. He is getting really good at the wii fit. It is amazing how much they understand and learn at such a young age.
We are pretty much just waiting for this kid to come.. we are pretty boring besides that. We really like Phoenix so far. We have a great ward and Jake likes having his family closer.
We did get a new car. Well a new to us car. We have been using Jake's parent's truck for the last 2 years while they were on their mission and they just got back a few months ago. So we needed to buy a car. Jake is proud owner of a wagon. That's right a wagon. :) It's a 2003 VW Passat wagon. It is actually really nice and he needed something with a large trunk for all of his equipment at his job, so this was the best thing we could find in our price range. It gets great gas mileage and we really like it so far! I will post pictures some time soon.

here comes the sun!

I am heading down to the state of Arizona to the sunny (soon to be hot) Tempe area. I am scared and excited all at the same time. I think it is always fun to start over and explore and do new things, but at the same time it is scary to be in a new place. Jake has family and friends around too, so I think it will be good!
I am offically moving most of our things, well clothes and reed's stuff down there, next thursday. It is kinda of a weird/nice situation for our apartment. They pay for rent, and they furnish the apartment. So we don't need all of our stuff.  We are going to leave most of our funriture in our house until it sells, and because I am going to come back here to have the baby here. I just feel that is best thing for me. I had such a hard delivery last time that I really want my doctor to be the one that gets me through this one.
I am so glad and greatful everything is going well with Jake down there. He is really enjoying it, and it doing well at it. So I can't complain. I get to stay home with my kiddles, and that really is the most important thing to me right now. I feel like they need their Mommy.
Jake is still going to school part time doing online classes, and so next semester we are hoping to get him enrolled in a school down there.
I really do have a bunch of pictures of the fun things that have been going on. Reed turned 2 last month, christmas, and all sorts of fun stuff, but I just can't seem to find the time right now. I am so tired and want to sleep, but my body isn't agreeing with me on that one. I mostly just wake up every hour and sit there for 15 min before I fall back asleep. Its no fun. Then I remember I am going to have a newborn again and I get a little freaked out. I didn't know what to expect with the last one, but I do what to expect this time, and I think that is more scarey. eek!
Oh well its coming whether I like it or not!

single mom..

I don't like being a single mom. Jake left me again.. He got a job in Mesa, Arizona. I do have to say I was very skeptical, but it seems to be working out so far. Well, for the whole week that he has been down there it is going good. But I still don't like being a single Mom. We decided that I would stay behind to make sure everything was going to work out before we packed up and moved the entire family down, and if it doesn't work out he still has a job up here that will take him. So we are waiting to make sure, given our track record with jobs, it seems to be for the best.
I know you are all dying to know what he is doing... He is installing security systems again, but with a different company. It is a year round thing and he is the Lead tech down there. So that makes it nice. Yeah I never thought we would actually go back to doing this, but you never know. So Reed and I (and Becca and Eric) are just hanging out back in the COLD La Verkin at least until the end of the month.
You ask where I am going to have this next baby. I have no idea. especially now that I just got approved for medicade. We will let you know.

Big Kid Time!!

I still can't believe he is getting so big!! He is quite the little monster these days. The terrible two's have hit us early with the tantrums and saying no. It has been quite a struggle and so I was scared to start transitioning him into the big boy stuff, but to my surprise those things have been great!
So.. He got a big boy bed! Well thanks to my hoarder of a mother we inherited Becca and I's old bunk beds. They are pretty sweet and I am so glad NOW that they saved them. They are these little bunk beds that a friend made for us in his wood shop class in college, best part they fit a crib size mattress! So they have been through all the Mahoney kids and they still look really good. They are small and they come right apart so they can be separate or bunk beds. Very convenient.
So here he is happy as can be. He loves it. He is so good about going to bed. The first two nights he came and stood by the door and cried and opened the door, but now he will get out of his bed turn off his heater, play a little and get back in bed and go to sleep. It is magical. My other worry was that in the morning he would leave the house cause he can open all the door and locks now, but to my surprise, He doesn't even leave his room until I come and get him. He just sits and reads, and does all his puzzles. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. It has been so wonderful.

Another big boy thing we started is the potty training. He has been super interested and wanting to try for a while now, but I was the one that wasn't ready. but I finally broke down and bought a little froggy potty. It was just to cute to pass up. We aren't going cold turkey yet. We just ask him once and while if he needs to go and he runs to the bathroom and strips down and pee's. He is so good at it. He loves going in his toilet. We are going to wait until finals are over to go hard core on it.
Funny story about that though. He had to go #2 so he ran to the bathroom and Becca was in the shower and so he ran to our bathroom and someone was using it, He was knocking and yelling and trying to let them know in the jibber jabber that he does, but he couldn't wait anymore so he went over to the rug and pooped there. Haha. It was so funny. No one knew what he was yelling about until they found the mess, but it was to funny to be mad about.

I forgot to blog about it, but I just had to show how cute these turned out. We had this fabric from pictures, so I thought I would put it to good use and it matched Reed's room so well.  I just got a few sticks from outside, spray painted them, and hung them up, and walmart has the rings with the clamps on them so I just used them. Cost me a total of $15, and they are so fun!
