Finally!

Baby Reed finally made it here! It was a long and crazy journey to get us both home and healthy.
So it all started out Friday afternoon when I went to my doctors appointment and my blood pressure was through the roof, 167/90 I think is what it was, so my doctor decided that it was time. So we walked downstairs and they admitted me into labor and delivery. They had to give me pills all that night to ripen my cervix, and then at 5am they started me on patossin. Soon after that I decided it was time to get the epidural. Which was VERY painful, but after it was in I was so glad that I had it. So then we waited and waited and waited. I finally dilated to a 10 at around 12am. So they decided that it was time and we were going to start pushing. I was so happy that it was almost over. Little did I know. I was extremely numb when we starting the pushing process and that is exactly how I wanted it. Well the nurse decided that I didn't need any more epidural because I was so numb and I would have the baby out very soon. So we pushed and pushed and pushed and everyone could see his head and that was it. He wasn't moving. He just stayed right there, so after 2 1/2 hours of pushing and my epidural was completely worn off. I was in tears and was ready to die. The on call doctor called my doctor and asked her what they should do. She said to stop and prep me for a c-section and she would be there momentarily. So 20 min later they wheeled me in to the OR and cut me open. When they could see him all I heard her say is he is huge! Then she said and he's stuck. His shoulders were wedged in my pelvis. He was just to big to fit through my body. She actually had to stand on the table to pull him out. Finally he was here! They brought him around and showed him to me really quick and Jake followed and watched him get cleaned up while they sowed me back up. He was born Sunday January 18th, 2009 at 2:47am, 9lbs 7oz and 22 1/2 inches long.
Since I had a c-section I had to stay in the hospital for a few extra days. We finally went home Wednesday night and were so happy to be home. Then on Sunday night I started to feel a little bit weird and kept getting cold and then hot. I told Jake to take my temp, because I thought I had a fever, sure enough I was at 103. So we called the doctor and they told us to go to the ER. Everyone knows how the ER is.. SLOW. So we got there at 6 and they took a bunch of blood, did some x-rays and a bunch of tests. Put in an IV which took 3 people and 6 pokes to get in. Finally came to the conclusion that I had a infection in my uterus, and said that they had to admit me back into the hospital. So they had to transport me back to the old hospital and admit me there so I could have the baby come there. I was so upset about going back and the baby couldn't be there unless someone was there. So luckily my mom and sister Becca were here, because they would bring him to me during the day and then take him home at night and take care of him. I am finally home again. Just got out yesterday. So we are doing good. Finally.
Here are some pictures of my cute little toad.

hmm.

So we still haven't had this little guy yet! I feel like I am going to die. I went to the Doctor this morning and was there forever! First I had to wait for the doctor for an hour in the waiting room, and then she finally came in and checked me and my cervix has done NOTHING! My blood pressure was a little high, so they checked me at the end of the appt too, and it was fine. Crap. so I wasn't going to get induced. I just want this to be over so badly that I feel like its never going to happen. Since my blood pressure was still up today, she did an ultrasound to make sure he still had enough fluid, and then I had to do the NTS test to make sure that he is still moving and his heart rate was fine. So I got there at 9:30 this morning and left at 12:00pm. It was a long vist and still no baby.

So close, but it seems so far away..

So we are getting down to the wire here, and this little guy should be making his appearance anytime now. We have just over a week and not to much is happening. I am so ready for him to come, but apparently he doesn't feel the same way. I can't sleep, I get sick when I eat, and I'm just exhausted! Not like I will get any more sleep when he comes, but I would like to hope its better.
We did go to the Doctor this morning and found out that I am not dilating and have thinned a little bit, so that was a bummer. I did have really high blood pressure though, and she was really concerned about that. I have to go back on Thursday and if it is still high then she said she will induce me over the weekend. So we could be having a baby by the end of the week. Which would be so nice. We will keep everyone updated, and post pictures as soon as he gets here.
Wish us luck!

Baby Shower!

So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that came and helped with the baby showers! They turned out so great and I had a fantastic time at both. We had one at my parents house on Sat thye 12th, and it was so good to see all my friends and family from there, and then we had one here in St. George on wednesday night and we had a great time. I can't thank everyone enough for all the stuff that they gave me! It will come in very useful I'm sure.
and we are having a baby shower/party down in Heber, Az over the thanksgiving weekend. So we are excited about that too!

Getting Closer..

So I can't believe how fast everything is going these days! I feel like I just don't have enough time! Holidays are coming and I've only got a month before I stranded to St. George. Apparently I can't travel after 34 weeks ( doctors orders) because altitude change can induce labor. I guess it varies from doctor to doctor but she told me after the first of dec. I can't go anywhere; so St. George I am going to stay. So this will be me and Jake's first Christmas alone. :(
I did go to my 29 week appt last Friday. She said he measures perfectly and everything looks and sounds good. I start seeing her every 2 weeks now and then at the end of dec I will see her every week. I had to take that glucose screening test on friday too, I didn't know I was going to so that morning I had donuts and hot choclate at 8 and then at 9:15 I had to start drinking that sugar water stuff they give you. I thought I was going to pass out. I was going into a sugar coma. So I waited out the hour, and they tested my blood and I was fine. Thank goodness, I've heard if you have to take the 2nd test it really sucks, so I was happy about that.
My stomach is huge now. I need to post some pics cause I'm pretty sure he is going to be a gaint child. I hope not I hoping for 7 lbs, but I can dream right.
